As a Christian community of faith and a United Methodist congregation, Ripley First United Methodist Church has established a policy for the protection and prevention of abuse for our children, youth, and at-risk adults. This policy and the necessary steps taken to implement this policy is known as “Safe Sanctuary”. From check-in and check-out, to volunteer and staff screening, steps are taken to provide for the safety and security of everyone.
Anyone who would like to volunteer with our children, youth, or at risk adults will need to first fill out a volunteer application. It will also be necessary to sign a release to have a background check performed. Once these steps have been taken and you have completed training to familiarize you with our policies, we welcome you to become a volunteer with our children and youth. If you would like to volunteer prior to following all of these steps, we can place you in an area with a volunteer who has completed this process. Below you will find the necessary forms as well as a copy of our Safe Sanctuary policy that you will need to read, sign, and turn in with your other papers.
Thank you for your interest.
Please download these forms, fill out, sign in the appropriate places, and return to our Children/Youth Ministry Director, Christal Chapman.
